Typical Installation

For a typical installation, Project assistant (PA) will be installed to your PC’s local hard drive. From within the PA application, you will either create a new file or open an existing file. Typically this file will be located on a server or networked drive allowing more than one PA application to open the same file.

When PA opens a database file, it will only retrieve the records that it needs to populate the current page or tab. Once the required data has been retrieved, PA will then disconnect from the database and you will then be working with a local copy of the data it has retrieved.

Whenever you change any data and save, PA will be automatically reconnect to the database and post the required changes back to database file allowing the changes to be visible to any other user who subsequently retrieves the same data.

Setup

Simply create a data file on a server location and open the file from each user application.

Create new Databases From the File menu.

Each user opens the same database file to share data
