Add Technical Query

To Add a New Technical Query

From the "Edit" group, Click the "Add" button

The Defect Editor Popup Editor will now be displayed:

The Editor is divided into Four sections

Item Information Details

The following fields are available for completion:

 

Project: The project for which the Defect belongs:

Raised By: Enter the originator of the Defect

Date Raised: Enter the date the date the Defect was raised

Tip: For all date fields, you can simply double click the box to enter today's date.

Priority: Select the priority of the Defect

Status:Select the Defect's of the Status from the drop down box

Reference: The reference number automatically generated by project assistant.

 

Note 1:

Do not edit this directly, To adjust the reference number, use the spin button marked "Change Number" to the desired number.

 

Note 2:

When the editor information is saved, the reference number allocated will be checked one more time before being committed, if the reference number is now being used, then the number will be adjusted up accordingly. This can happen when an editor is open for a long time without being saved and another instance of Project Assistant add a new record while the editor is open.

 

Drawing Ref: If the query is regarding a drawing, state the drawing number and revision here

PS Ref: If the query is regarding a particular Specification ( Input Design Document), state the document title and revision here

Subject: Enter the Subject of your query here

 

Create Link Panel

With this panel it is possible to link the query to either a Configuration Item (CI), a Defect (Def) or Change Request Note (CRN) so that this query will appear on the status report of the linked item. In this way you can ensure that the query has been closed.

 

CI Link: Select a Configuration Item to link to.

Def Link: Select a Defect to link to

CRN: Select a Change Request to Link to

Note: The above field labels may change depending on your register name configuration.

In the above panel for example, the query has been linked with Defect number 155. This query will now appear on the status report for this defect.

 

Query & Response details

The following fields are available for completion:

 

Query Tab: A freeform text editor to enter your query details.

Response Tab: Use this free form text to record the response to your query when received.

 

Response and Status Details

The following fields are available for completion:

 

Response Date: The project for which the TQ belongs:

Followup Action: Select the Further Action (If any) required to close out the TQ

Response Ref: The reference number for which the TQ response was submitted.

 

Click Save:

When you have entered all your information, then simply click the "Save and Close" button and your technical query will added and be visible to all users.
