To Add a CI Revision

When a configuration Item is complete and ready for issuing, you will need to create a revision of the CI. This CI revision can then be tracked to ensure that an adequate response to the submission is received.

Also At some point in your project, it will become necessary to update and re-issue some of the CI's that have been issued to your client, when this situation arises, you will create a new revision and the tracking process begins again.

To create / add a new CI revision, select the Configuration Item workbook and then select the row that you wish to create a revision for in the top part of the workbook:

The Configuration Item Revision Popup Editor will now be displayed:

The Revision Editor is divided into the following Two sections:

     

The Revision Information Panel

Contains peripheral information about the item and the following fields are available for completion:

 

 

Revision: The revision of the CI

Author: Enter the originator of the CI

Reference: The reference number automatically generated by project assistant.

File Name: Use the file browser to select the file location.

Change Reason: The reason for changing the CI

Description Of Change: Abstract description of the change.

Date: Select the issue date from the drop down box

[Tip] For all date fields, you can simply double click the box to enter today's date.

 

The response Details Panel

Use this panel to record information about your client's response to your submission.

 

 

Expected Date: This will have been initially completed by Project Assistant and gives a comparison to the actual response date

Actual Date: Enter the actual submission response date

Reference: Enter your clients correspondence reference number

Status: Use the status selector to indicate the status your submission received. (Approved for example)

 

Click Save And Close

When you have entered all your information, then simply click the Save and Close button and the CI revision will be added and be visible to all users.
